Lions Heraldic members responded positively and quickly to an Autumn 2013 request for clothes and boots to be sent to Syria to help some of the many thousands of refugees who have no protection from the coming winter cold. Access to such clothes could really be a matter of life or death for some. The photo above shows the clothes being carefully packed by members of a Belgian ASBL to go into a container bound for the Turkish-Syrian border. Many Heraldic members have already shared generously, and there will be further opportunities in the coming weeks and months as, sadly, this conflict shows no sign of abating soon.
